The Texas heat has come about two months early this year creating an inferno. In our sandy soil it is difficult enough to keep the plants watered but when we have this kind of heat and no rain for weeks it looks like a desert. I've often wondered if at one time this part of the world was a beach near the ocean. Plants, people and animals are challenged to stay hydrated but the weeds seem to thrive, popping up in my flower beds, especially the crab grass.

Today, as I was watering and pulling the crab grass from my flower beds I thought about my struggles with old beliefs that still pop up from time to time. Like the crab grass I thought they were gone but in the heat of challenging times they resurface again.
